Forager Handmade Preserves launched at the Hulbert St Sustainability Fiesta in Fremantle in 2012, to an overwhelming response.  Aiming to establish slowly and maintain quality, we did not approached retailers, preferring word of mouth and customer recommendations to compel retailers to approach us in 2013 and 2014.  During this time we continued to sell directly to customers at various farmers' markets and festivals, using the direct customer feedback to refine our products, and achieved Organic Certification with NASAA.  As a result, we now have a firm foundation upon which to launch the next phase of our business which is establishing a broad range of stockists in Western Australia.

In 2015 we aim to expand the marketing and distribution of our core product, Vegetable Stock Concentrate, with product development starting on a Chicken Stock Concentrate aiming for launch in 2016.

Alongside the Vegie stock, we also provide a seasonal range of preserves:  Jams, Chutneys, Pickles and Curds.  Customers are aware and appreciate that these lines are seasonal in nature and therefore not always available.  In fact, their very limited nature gives them an exclusivity.

Our handcrafted preserves are made using the finest ingredients in small batches in our licensed home kitchen in Fremantle, Western Australia.  Sustainable practises are important to us and are a guiding factor in all decision making.  For example, we use recycled packaging and stationary where possible, our kitchen is powered by solar cells and sustainable energy, we compost most of our kitchen waste and we use organic ingredients wherever possible.  We highly value and support local businesses by sourcing local over imported, for example we use only Australian dried fruit in our chutneys, WA lake salt, WA olive oil and WA apple cider vinegar in all our products
